Carlton Gore Road Solar Installation
Installing a solar system onto the roof of a multi-storey building in Auckland’s CBD involved meticulous planning and coordination, juggling multiple solar panels and working in a live environment.
Feisst Electrical worked with Nugreen Solutions on this project, installing a 53kW system.
To get the panels and associated materials onto the roof of the building, a truck crane was needed. To minimise impact on nearby business and working day traffic flow, the lift was done on a Saturday. A traffic management plan reduced the normal amount of traffic through this busy area of town.
Doing the install over winter (June-August 2024), the team worked around heavy rain and wind, often being required to stand down for a day. However, the job was completed on time.
An interesting fact about this projectThe system included 105 solar panels across 6 strings and is expected to produce approximately 68.5MWh of power annually.
